The Adjustment Strategy of Guangdong Social Workers’ Salary System from the Perspective of New Managementism

Abstract: The development of social work in Guangdong has always been at the forefront of the country. This is directly related to the establishment of a social work salary system in the context of the government's purchase of social work services. However, due to the long-term absence of salary system adjustment, the problems of low social worker treatment and high turnover rate are also highlighted. At present, domestic research on the social work salary system is still scarce, and there is no specific operational advice. It is necessary to strengthen the collaboration between the government and social work organizations, formulate a reasonable salary calculation method with reference to salary information in the industry, and form a normal salary adjustment mechanism to explore a social worker salary system in line with local conditions.
