Abstract: Based on the practice of the “Runjiang Summer Camp”, this study explores the impact of the synergistic intervention of group work and case work on the self-identity reconstruction of traumatized children experiencing both trauma and family difficulties. Employing a qualitative-dominant methodology supplemented by quantitative measures, this study systematically analyzes the implementation process and effectiveness of this model through six structured group sessions and targeted case interventions. The findings indicate that group work has created a safe “psychological field” that provides universal growth support for the children, while casework, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy (NT), has facilitated targeted remediation of deep-seated trauma. An in-depth analysis of a specific camper, Xiao Ai, has showed significant improvements in self-worth, interpersonal trust, and future hopefulness. Therefore, the study confirms the effectiveness of the synergistic group and casework intervention in social work services for children and adolescents, providing both a feasible practice path and theoretical foundation for interventions addressing complex childhood adversity.
