Abstract: Colleagues are the closest companions of social workers in the process of work. Space-time distance and psychological distance become the advantages of social workers to be the most important components of other social workers' social support network. Empirical studies show that in the context of the double constraint on social workers’ relationship with colleagues by the value orientation of Chinese culture and social work values, their relationship has a five-dimensional structure: emotional support, instrument, value constraint, altruism and steering power. At the same time, the multiple regression analysis shows that collectivism, harmony and human bondage in value orientations of Chinese culture has a significant predictive effect on the relationship between local social workers.

Key words: value orientation of Chinese culture, social work values, colleague relationship between social workers
