Citespace III

Abstract: From the perspective of self-determination theory, this paper sorted out the related literatures about the influence of autonomic need on intrinsic motivation. 232 research papers investigating the influence of autonomic need on intrinsic motivation, published between 1998 and 2017, were gathered from Web of Science. Based on the collected literature, we carried out visual analyses of the spatial and temporal distribution and magazine distribution by Citespace III software. We summarized the influence of autonomic need satisfaction and autonomic need frustration on intrinsic motivation. Finally, the limitations and future research directions of the research are discussed.

Key words: self-determination theory, autonomic need, intrinsic motivation, Citespace III
