Abstract: Starting with the two major evaluation systems of international competitiveness in the world, combined with the global index of economic prosperity and innovation, this paper analyzes the international competitiveness ranking of World Economic Forum (WEF) and the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) for Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRIC), and their future competitiveness development trends as a whole. It draws a conclusion that the BRIC countries hold comparative advantages. It is found that BRIC countries possess their own strength and enormous potential for cooperation. If an effective mechanism for cooperation is established, turning the comparative potential advantages into international competitive advantages, it can provide an important foundation and prerequisite for the BRIC countries to improve the overall competitiveness.
