Abstract: Classification, analysis and representation of logistics demand, involved in supply chain network design, is the basis of supply chain network design formulation. It could be conducive to the establishment and optimization of supply chain network design model. This paper analyzes the logistics space demand and time demand. With reference to the existing errors and limitations of space demand, this paper proposes the area random demand and node cluster demand based on geographic information processing tools, describing the uncertainty logistics demand by the expected demand function, and formulates the demand uncovering function to represent the time demand. The application direction of demand representation in supply chain network design is given in the conclusion.

Key words: logistics demand, representation, supply chain network design, facility site selection, space, time
