Abstract: The reasons for adhering to people’s highest position include, on the one hand, that it is the demand of historical materialism that people are the subject of social history and, on the other, that it is the demand of the basic nature and purpose of the Chinese Communist Party. In the new century and the new stage, in order to persist in people’s highest position and build a strong ruling foundation, our party should put the people’s interests in the first place so as to win the most reliable and strongest mass’ basis and motive power; pay much attention to the masses work under the new situation, asking people for politics, meeting their demand, and inviting them to give some wisdom for work; adhere to shifting down the focus of work so as to get along well with the masses, promoting the feelings to the masses and strengthening the ability to serve them; constantly strengthen people’s sense of master, maintain the true qualities of public servant, and accept people’s supervision.
