The Family Integration of Rural Marriage Immigrants and its Influence on Social Adaptation

Abstract: Crossregional marriage is a kind of intermarriage between persons who are from different counties, cities or provinces and this kind of marriage brings about marriage immigrants. The families of rural marriage immigrants are basically harmonious and highly integrated because crossregional marriage is a rational choice within the limitation of social structure. The choice is in accordance with mutual benefits between marriage immigrants and local residents. However, the crossregional marriage has some negative effects and causes some common problems and conflicts in the family. Family integration is significant to the level of social adaptation of marriage immigrants.
