Governance and Service: Function Position of Social Work Organizations

Abstract:  Along with the emergence and development of national and regional social work, a large number of social work organizations have arisen. The authors of this paper conduct the study in the theoretical framework of social governance, finding that social work organizations need to realize their function and value through governance and service. To be more specific, the profession autonomy and service should be promoted to develop social work organizations and talents, thereby strengthening main forces of the social governance. In the meantime, social work organizations can directly provide social service to promote construction of people’s livelihood, lead and urge social work development to increase social influences and profession identity of social work.
