Abstract: It is the common responsibility of families, government and social organizations to take care of left-behind children. This paper is going to analyze the basic situation and main requirements of left-behind children in the project region and summarize the process and achievements of professional service through case work, group work, community work and social administration. It also raises four points for further reflections: First, the design of the project plan must be responsive to the needs and all parties involved should reach a consensus; Second, the quality and ability of social workers must be further improved; Third, the policy for government purchasing social work services should be adjusted appropriately; Fourth, the linkage between social workers and grassroots communities must be strengthened.
