Theoretical Trends of East Asian Welfare Regime: Overseas Studies in Recent 30 Years

Abstract: Researches on East Asian welfare regime has experienced 30 years development since 1986. It not only largely enriches our social welfare theory but also providesfrom foreign advanced practices significant reference for China. This study wants to complete a deep analysis on foreign researches of East Asian welfare regime through literature-review, and observes that researches on this topic seems to be stable and continuous, which has been one of the most important issues in welfare regime; meanwhile, although widespread debates can be found, theoretical disputes among its existent issue, typical characters and future trends issue has taken up a large degree of differentiation. This study suggests that we should continue to maintain enough academic forbearance, enhance the ability for collecting or using statistical database, and actively cultivate or guide our young scholars.
