Abstract: "Social workers going to the countryside" is a subject practice of rural social governance in the new era, which has a solid theory and reality basis. The right direction of the government's social work policy, the orderly construction of social work talent team and the organic transplantation of social work methods all reflect the feasibility and effectiveness of "social workers going to the countryside". The original nature of paying attention to the underclass vulnerable groups, maintaining the order and stability of the community, and upholding the protection of social justice constitute the multiple practical goals of "social workers going to the countryside" in the new era. Owing to the complexity of rural ecological situation and the primary stage of social work development, the smooth implementation of "social workers going to the countryside" should take the three-dimensional path, that is, identifying the intervention perspective that fit the Chinese rural cultural characteristics, returning to the road of cooperative social work development model, and relying on the project model based on the legalization and contract, thereby promoting rural social governance effectiveness and social worker' subjectivity construction.
