Abstract: The guiding role of Party construction is an important strategy for the development of social work institutions, which shows a high degree of mutual embedment between politics and professionalism. Based on the field research and case interviews of 27 social work institutions in D city in Guangdong, this article investigates the relations between Party construction development and professional services of the institutions. It is found that the establishment of the Party branches has greatly promoted the political development of the institutions, and the increasing coverage of their Party branches can absorb a team of Party members social workers who are young, professional and localized. On the one hand, social work institutions take space, identity and service as the carrier to realize the mutual embedment of politics and specialty through scene immersion, role connection and professional identity in Party building. On the other hand, there are such problems as the fragmentation of scene immersion, the role imbalance of Party members social workers, and the low professional identity of Party construction. Therefore, relevant suggestions are put forward.
