Abstract: Since the Reform and Openingup, social services of Chinese Catholicism have developed quickly. Catholic churches have launched various activities of charitable service, such as relieving the disabled and the poor, preventing AIDS, donating for schools, and running orphanages, elders homes and free clinics, which have exerted great influence on Catholicism merging into the Chinese society and its adaptation to a socialist system. The paper, taking Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning and Gansu as examples, describes the current situation, problems and difficulties and puts forward some suggestions for social services of Chinese Catholicism.
