Abstract: Old age is the reality, ageing is the trend, prevention is the goal and participation is the method. The social participation of the elderly is a basic human right, and the social participation of the elderly is a major social project involving the elderly themselves, their families, the community and society. The involvement of social work in the participation of the elderly is to mobilize and integrate resources within the community and to provide various welfare services so that the elderly can have access to resources to meet their needs and receive proper care in a familiar community, and then make up for the shortcomings of the home-based care for the elderly. Aging prevention is the positive purpose of social work intervention in the elderly community participation and social participation is an effective strategy for social workers to intervene in aging prevention. The strategy of social work involved in the social participation of the elderly can be optimized from four aspects:support service, protection service, counseling service and supplementary service.
