Comparison of Institutional Care and Home Care—— A Case Study of the Disabled Service

Abstract: With the increase in the number of the Chinese disabled population, institutional care has been faced with problems like limited capacity, high expenditure and so on. In this context, home care is becoming a way to solve these problems. This article, taking two disabled service organizations for example, compares institutional care and home care from the following aspects: service objects, service providers, means of delivering service, service features, and their service advantages and disadvantages, and points out that the two models both have some advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, we should make better use of their respective advantages and render better service according to the different needs of different types of people.
