Abstract: The paper argues that the onechild family is with scarce resources and analyzes the reason for the scarcity to show the aspects of the scarcity. There are mainly three types of marriage: virilocal, uxorilocal and combined marriage. The distribution of the resources between family members is different in different types of marriage. So, the marriage is an event of family which involves redistribution of resources, influences relationship with another onechild family, and later affects the relationship between two families as well as two generations. In this situation, the marriage between onechild families is the result from a marriage strategy.
