Constructing Medical Social Work Education Curriculum: Based on a Scoping Review

Abstract: In China, there is a lack of systematic curriculum for medical social work in the tertiary education system, as it is a relatively new field in China, and existing literature has not investigated the specific curriculum constructs. A scoping review method was adopted to search databases for relevant literature relevant curriculum of medical social work in both Chinese and English from from July to November 2022. I synthesized the overall traits of medical social work education, university curriculum and interdisciplinary curriculum in the health settings both in China and abroad. Based on the extracted themes, a comprehensive and localized curriculum that embodies practicality and interdisciplinarity was conducted to provide empirical data and valuable insights for the development of medical social work education in China.
