    REN Wenqi, LIANG Pan
    SOCIAL WORK AND MANAGEMENT, 2017, 17 (1): 5-11.
    Abstract    HTML ( ) PDF (590KB) ( 2193 )

Based on the previous research and practice, the paper finds that social work in the western region is facing four problems:specialization of social work occupation is not enough, mainly depending on the administrative logic; professionalism of the occupation is not high, let alone differentiation and competition; social prestige of social work occupation is too low, making it difficult to attract and retain talents; reform of social work occupation is in slow development, lack of stamina and power. The following would account for the problems:the lack of social development; the market is weak; the function of university as think-tank for the development of social work has not yet been demonstrated; the government should serve as a major external driving force, however, the fact is not like this. The government is the crucial point to break the social work development dilemma in the western region.

Is there any underdog effect when Non-profit organization raises fund? Is it strong for the weak side? In this paper, we have done two experiments to answer these questions. Study1 shows that a donor of non-profit organizations who perceived NPO as an underdog would express more willingness to donate.Study2 demonstrates that the consumer who is strongly self-identified as underdogs would support NPO as an underdog. Thus, non-profit organizations can create a positive image of the underdog to win the donation and encourage donors with underdog identity in the marketing communications

On the Integration of Human Resources Management and Corporate Social Work
    LIU Yang
    SOCIAL WORK AND MANAGEMENT, 2017, 17 (1): 18-23.
    Abstract    HTML ( ) PDF (685KB) ( 2571 )

After the economy of our country developed into the new normal, human capital has been given more attention by all walks of the society, especially by the new type of human resources managers who need continuous innovation in methods of the basic transactional HR service. Because corporate social work and human resources management have some common goals, values and theoretical foundations, social workers may be the counselors and partners of HR managers in their common service areas, such as training, benefits management, labor relations management, vocational development, work-family relations, and so on. However, it must be noted that, due to the different perspective and roles, social workers must not confuse their responsibilities with those of HR managers.

    LIU Yantao, QIN Liangfang
    SOCIAL WORK AND MANAGEMENT, 2017, 17 (1): 24-30.
    Abstract    HTML ( ) PDF (611KB) ( 2417 )

With the rapid development of social work in China, military social work attracted people's attention gradually. The research scope of military social work should be defined in theoretical research and the practical research taking soldiers, soldier's dependants, and military communities as objects. The lack of systematic theoretical study, the ambiguity of research category, the uneven level of research achievements and the limited research scope are the major problems of the research on military social work in China. The military social work and the military political work have similarities in many aspects, but also obvious differences. To develop the military social work in China, military social work should be positioned as an auxiliary, supplement and perfection of the military political work, Finally, suggestions are provided in promoting the development of military social work, respectively from the following perspectives:strengthening the system construction, enhancing the professional ability and increasing the intensity of personnel training.

From the perspective of competition strategy, against the background of low access threshold, uneven professional level and strong administrative influences, the working strategy for social work agencies is to highlight their featured characteristic, provide accurate service, and improve their competitiveness in the community.
