    SOCIAL WORK AND MANAGEMENT, 2018, 18 (5): 6-14.
    Abstract    HTML ( ) PDF (773KB) ( 2644 )
Perinatal depression will endanger pregnant women, families and society. The program for prevention of perinatal depression is targeted at pregnant women and their family members. The intervention goal of preventing and alleviating perinatal depression was achieved by changing two mediating variables, maternal self-efficacy and family support with Baker's depression Self-measurement table, family care scale and maternal self-efficacy scale as measurement tools. The design process of the intervention manual should follow the principles of satisfying individual needs, understanding the objects of intervention, balancing intermediary variables and taking into account the overall environment. With the rise of evidence-based research, social work and psychology will be merged in the field of mental health. On the basis of absorbing psychological theories and methods, social work will look at individual problems from a holistic perspective and devote itself to exerting the potential of others. The social work's value orientation and the pursuit of human welfare will be more in line with the development and progress of society as a whole. At the same time, researchers should pay attention to humanistic concern while respecting the scientific and orderly nature of evidence-based research, so as to promote the further application and development of intervention research in the field of social work.

    ZHONG Mingwei, LIU Junrong
    SOCIAL WORK AND MANAGEMENT, 2018, 18 (5): 51-56.
    Abstract    HTML ( ) PDF (629KB) ( 2389 )
Based on the large sample survey data in Guangdong province, the author analyzed the perceptual evaluation of medical social work by medical staff from medical institutions of different nature, type and level, and the related factors that affect the evaluation of medical social work, and provided theoretical reference for further strengthening medical social work. The questionnaire was self-designed and further amended by the experts, and then input into the "questionnaire star" enterprise version system to facilitate the sample survey. The data generated from the system was processed and calculated, combined with the theory and practice to discuss and analyze. A cording to the findings, only 38.2% of the surveyed units usually carried out medical social work services, and 54.5% of the sample population considered that medical social work service had modest effect, while 9.7% of the sample considered that medical social work service had poor or even no effect. 88.8% of the sample population said it was fairly necessary or necessary to set up a medical social work organization within the medical institution, and 52.2% of the sample population thought it better that the government purchased the service from social work group and provided it to institutions and patients free of charge. There were no significant differences in the evaluation of the medical social work services effect provided by different types of medical institutions, (p > 0.05). There were significant differences in the overall medical social work service frequency and service effect among different medical institutions, p < 0.05. It is obvious that medical staff generally has a low perceptual evaluation of medical social work, and such work is not going well. The quality of work needs to be improved. The necessity of such work is to be recognized. Government-led model is more preferred.

    Abstract    HTML ( ) PDF (617KB) ( 2254 )
The transformation of Confucian cultural capital into community social capital can respond to the emerging problems in the urban communities, including the deterioration of family relationships, human indifference, worsening of moral beliefs etc. It can play an active role in strengthening community attachment and identity among the residents, reshaping family moralities and building community support network. Therefore, the reconstruction of Confucian culture capital can be a new attempt in the urban community reconstruction. The core for the reconstruction of Confucian culture capital lies in the modernization of Confucianism and turning Confucian culture capital into social capital. The method is to tap into the traditional culture in urban communities, find the Confucian value sources in community construction and form operation organizations for Confucian culture capital.

Analysis of Children Protection Policy and Construction of Family-centered Children Protection System
ZHAO Fang, XU Yanfeng, CHEN Honglin
    SOCIAL WORK AND MANAGEMENT, 2018, 18 (5): 67-77.
    Abstract    HTML ( ) PDF (742KB) ( 2270 )
Children protection in China, deeply influenced by Confucian culture, lays special emphasis on the responsibility of family protection. After the establishment of the People's Republic of China, children protection policy was deeply influenced by the social and political system. The compensatory children welfare policy system was set up, giving very limited support for the family. After the reform and opening up, the children welfare policy has been gradually developed from the compensatory system to the moderate universal benefit system. Particularly in the recent few years, the legal implementation of compulsory reporting policy, the alternative care system, the judicial practice of guardianship transfer system, and the active participation of nongovernmental organizations have jointly contributed to the rapid development of China's children protection policy and practice. However, the children protection in China is still facing a series of challenges:There is no authoritative system of children Protection Law (or children Welfare law); there is still a lack of state-mandated authoritative leading sector. With the influence of traditional Chinese culture, public power has difficulties in intervening in the family's private domain in the implementation process. The mandatory reporting and alternative care system has no specific implementation guides and there are no follow-up procedures with the two policies. Also, the poor coordination and integration of the governmental and nongovernmental sectors restricts the further development of children protection policy. Therefore, it is important to establish a family-centered children protection policy in China. To achieve this goal, it is pivotal to promote the structural and applicable children protection policy.

Research on the Path and Standard of NGO Support for Child-Bereft Families: Taking Shanghai as an Example
    HU Qi
    SOCIAL WORK AND MANAGEMENT, 2018, 18 (5): 78-86.
    Abstract    HTML ( ) PDF (679KB) ( 2108 )
Families bereft of their only child need comprehensive social support, because their demand for spiritual comfort and living care are more extensive and lasting than their economic need. The study shows that Shanghai has played a positive role in promoting the innovation of government administration and improving the situation of public services scarcity through NGOs' support for families bereft of their only child. However, due to the obstacles of the top-level design and the external management mechanism, as well as inadequate cultivation on the high standard of NGOs' support for them, the improper management of NGO's internal mechanism have resulted in an non-standard support and services provided for them as well as an incompetence and a lack of expertise among existing social support in Shanghai. Aiming at solving these problems, we put forward a series of countermeasures pertinent to the policies to further consummate the cooperation mechanisms between the government and NGOs by broadening the scope of NGOs' participation in government procurement channels, and strengthen the internal construction of NGOs.
